Highlights: Harrison Barnes dazzles in win over the New Orleans Pelicans
Walkin’ fast, faces pass, and the Spurs are not yet homebound (they have one more game in Los Angeles before their next home game). Regardless, the good guys are just starin’ blankly ahead, just makin’ their way, makin’ a way through the crowd *and that third quarter (phew). Thankfully, the Spurs got back in the win column behind Harrison Barnes’s team-high 24 points. Stephon Castle returned from injury and immediately notched 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists while Dylan Harper scored a career-high 22 points with 6 assists.
Mr. One Hundred Percent strikes again! I, like many others, think Harrison Barnes should have another ring. After all of these years, HB found himself in a Spurs uniform, and we find out he should have been a Spur all along. Barnes has been in the league 15 years, but incredulously he still doesn’t crack the top 15 list of oldest active players. That list tops out with LeBron James and includes players like Chris Paul, Al Horford, Mike Conley Jr., Stephen Curry, Brook Lopez, DeAndre Jordan, Kevin Love, (Billy Martin*), Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, (Billy Martin*), Nicolas Batum, DeMar DeRozan, James Harden, Jimmy Butler, (Billy Martin*), Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
*Seinfeld reference when Larry David as George Steinbrenner goes on a rant about New York Yankees managers he’s fired over the years.

De’Aaron Fox flicked his wrist, chanted “Expecto Patronum” and shot the ball to a streaking Castle for the two in transition. Fox is an alpha scorer, but it seems like to me in his tenure with the Spurs the star guard is involving his teammates more and letting the game come to him or stepping in for quick offense when the team needs it.
Exhibit A: Fox scored 14 while dishing out 7 assists to facilitate his teammates on the offensive side.

Let’s address the elephant in the room: Dylan Harper is going to be special. Stephon Castle is going to be special. I see arguments for and against trade scenarios to land Giannis Antetokounmpo, but I am not so naive to know that would mean parting with one or both of these young players. My solution? Are you ready? Here goes. We infiltrate the Milwaukee Bucks front office and install a puppet GM. It’s Nico Harrison, but we switch the first letters of the name so no one catches on. When Hico Narrison proposes a trade to us to send Giannis Antetokounmpo (due to reasons such as, “just because,” or “noneyabusiness” or “bad attitude and drinks too much Milwaukee beer”), we send them future draft picks, cash, ten pounds of barbacoa, and a DVD copy of Blood In Blood Out signed by Benjamin Bratt. Win win.
If that trade scenario seems too farfetched for you, then I counter with no more than two Hemsworth brothers AND four Baldwin brothers for three Antetokounmpo brothers (one of which must be Giannis, of course).

Would Carter Bryant be a starter on any other team other than the Oklahoma City Thunder? Yes. Am I qualified or knowledgeable to make sweeping generalizations? No? Depends. Stephon Castle barrelled in for the put-back dunk with no regard for human life or the 2 McRib limit per household law. I know there’s no 2 limit per household McRib regulation, but there should be because I am not in compliance with those fake policies at this time.
Castle had just come back from a stint on the injured list, so it should come as to no surprise that the coaching staff limited him to only 23 minutes on Monday night. Regardless, the reigning rookie of the year still managed to fill the box score.
